Band I-III AB (Grades 7-8)

In this course, students learn the rudiments of band instruments including trombone, trumpet, bass horn, clarinet, saxophone, flute and drums. The band marches and represents the school in parades. (4-8 units)

Concert Band I-IV (Grades 9-12)

In this course, students learn the advanced techniques of band instruments including trombone, trumpet, bass horn, clarinet, saxophone, flute and drums. The band represents the school at community events. (4-8 Units)

Handbell Choir I-III AB (Grades 7-8)

A course enabling students to develop musical expression and appreciation through the art of bell or chime ringing. Critical listening is part of the course requirement. Some of the fundamentals taught are care and maintenance, bell set-up, ringing and damping, circles and legato ringing, music notation and reading. Performances are part of the experience and excellence is stressed. (4-8 Units)

Advanced Chorus I-IV AB (Grades 9-12)

A course in vocal music performance that provides everyone the opportunity to participate. Students also have school-related performances which involve choreography and introduces them to dance. There are many solo opportunities as well. (4-8 Units)

Yearbook (Grades 9-12)

This course addresses the multifaceted needs of yearbook production. With the introduction of all phases of yearbook students will be learn the skills of Journalism, Layout Design, Photo journalism and Graphic Design. Students will work with Adobe Photoshop to create page designs, edit photos and work with texts and fonts. Classroom activities are closely related to the real world of interviewing, reporting, meeting deadlines and producing a widely viewed publication.

Graphic Design (Grades 7-8)

Graphic Design is a class that teaches art and technology. In this class students will use design as a creative process in communication. Students will also explore various methods used to create and combine words, symbols, and images to create a visual representation of ideas and messages. Students will use the basic elements and principles of art and also learn how to use the computer programs Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. This class teaches the basics of Graphic Design through an illustrative and corporate view.

Middle School Visual Arts

In this hands on class, students will be shown the various techniques to create three-dimensional art. The student will also be introduced to various mediums and sculpting tools. (4-8 Units)

Advanced Visual Arts Sculpting (Grades 9-12)

In this hands on class students will be shown the various techniques used to create three-dimension art. The student will also be introduced to various sculpting mediums and sculpting mediums and sculpting tools. (3.33 Units)

Advanced Visual Arts Watercoloring
(Grades 9-12)

Student’s work step-by-step to create watercolor paintings in this hands on class. Various techniques will be taught to show depth, contrast, shadow and mood in the painting. (3.33 Units)
