• ### Computer and Key Boarding (Grade 6&7)

Students learn touch typing along with basic word processing and computer skills needed to write, save and edit their work. (10 Units)
• ### Computer Applications (Grade 9-12)

A course stressing the use of current popular software programs which include word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, and efficient use of the operating system. The course also covers basic and visual basic programming with an emphasis on creating both stand alone applications and macros that can be used with Microsoft Office applications. (5 Units)

Advanced Math is designed to prepare students for Pre-Algebra. Topics covered are fractions, decimals, percents, ratio, proportion, interest, measurement, Geometry, perimeter, area, volume, simple equations, graphs, place value, Pythagorean Theorem, & estimation. Problem solving is also emphasized. (10 Units)
• ### Pre-Algebra AB (Grade 6-8)

Although the title is Pre-Algebra, it can be considered a course in applied arithmetic, pre-algebra, and pre-geometry. It is designed to prepare students for success in algebra and beyond. Solving percent problems, finding areas and volumes of composite figures, computations with exponents and roots, operations with signed numbers, solving real number equations, conversions, ratios, proportions, similarity, coordinate graphing, tables of values, operations with fractions and mixed numbers, basic probability, the Pythagorean theorem, angles and parallel lines. (10 Units)
• ### Algebra 1AB (Grade 7-9)

Thinking, communicating and problem solving is taught using the tools of Algebra. Graphing calculators are required, as technology is an integral part of the course and is used to reinforce many of the concepts. New topics covered include: sets, factorials, rates of change, slopes, equations for lines, compound interest, exponential growth and decay, basic operations with polynomials, factors of polynomials, systems of linear equations, and quadratic equations. The Pythagorean theorem is reinforced as well as ratios, proportions, solving linear equations with rationals, and solving inequalities.
• ### Geometry AB (Grade 8-11)

This course integrates algebra and some discrete mathematics together with geometry. Up-to-date-technology is integrated throughout and students are expected to have graphing calculators with them at all times. The course covers the postulates of Euclidean Geometry, proofs of theorems, Pythagorean theorem, rates of change and slopes of lines, conditional statements, converses, contrapositives, conjectures, planes, rays, angles, parallel lines, area, perimeter, similarity, circles, polygons, geometric solids, and coordinate geometry. (10 Units)
• ### Algebra 2AB (Grade 9-12)

This is the second course of high school algebra designed to integrate geometry, discrete mathematics, and statistics with algebra. It is an extension of what was learned in Algebra I and prepares students for work in higher mathematics. New material covered includes problems in variation, sequences and series, matrices, complex numbers, negative and rational exponents and functions, composition and inverses of functions, logarithms and basic trigonometry. Calculators and other computer programs will be used to further understand, analyze, and visualize expressions and functions, not just as a calculation tool.
• ### Math Analysis AB (Grade 11-12)

A course designed to prepare students for calculus. It covers trigonometry, trigonometric identities, exponential functions, vectors, limits, logarithmic functions and their applications. Algebra II is a prerequisite for this course. (10 Units)
• ### AP Calculus AB

This two-semester course sequence acquaints students with calculus principles such as derivatives, integrals, limits, approximation, and applications and modeling. During this course, students will gain experience in the use of calculus methods and learn how calculus methods may be applied to practical applications. • ### AP Calculus BC

• ### AP Statistics

This purpose of this course is to introduce students to the basic concepts of study design, data collection, data analysis and statistical inference. Topics include an overview of observational and experimental study designs, graphical and numerical descriptive statistics, probability distributions for simple experiments and random variables, sampling distributions, confidence intervals and hypothesis testing. The emphasis is on developing statistical reasoning skills and critical thinking; computational skill is secondary. Completion of a statistics project is an essential component of the course. Students are taught the use of graphing calculators (TI-83 or TI-84) to handle the computations. Students will also use be introduced to more advanced statistical software in order to learn to read output and interpret data. (10 Units)
