RHP SCHOOLWIDE LEARNER OUTCOMES

 

  1. Read and think critically.

    Students discover, analyze, evaluate and interpret information and ideas as critical readers, thinkers and problem solvers.

 

  1. Communicate clearly and effectively.

    Students express ideas and knowledge using writing, speaking, listening, technological, and artistic skills.

 

  1. Demonstrate personal, moral and social responsibility.

    Students are honest, accept responsibility for their actions, and show respect and concern for their spiritual lives, others, and self.

 

  1. Develop skills to be lifelong learners.

    Students establish goals for the future and become motivated, self- directed learners beyond the classroom and throughout life.

 

METHODS OF DEMONSTRATING THE PEARL/RHP SCHOOLWIDE LEARNER OUTCOMES

 

Students may demonstrate mastery of the schoolwide learner outcomes by:

READING AND THINKING CRITICALLY

  • Analyzing, evaluating and interpreting information.

  • Designing and implementing a plan to solve a problem.

  • Collecting, tabulating, charting and analyzing data.

  • Writing an analytical paper using various resources.

  • Making inferences from what is read.

  • Applying what is learned from reading.

  • Using technology and the library to access and synthesize information into a research paper.

  • Exploring questions about the natural world by utilizing the scientific method.

  • Applying algorithms and mathematical concepts in solving problems.

 

COMMUNICATING CLEARLY AND EFFECTIVELY

  • Speaking within and to a group on a specific topic.

  • Using the writing process to create, edit, and evaluate.

  • Presenting dramatic/oral presentations that demonstrate poise, command of language, and clear communication.

  • Writing a coherent essay with logical structure, evidence, and supporting statements.

  • Describing orally, or in writing, procedures, results, and conclusions of a lab experiment.

  • Demonstrating ideas and feelings through visual or performing arts.

  • Using technology to communicate ideas and information.

  • Expressing views effectively, respectfully and responsibly.


DEMONSTRATING SOCIAL, MORAL & SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITY

  • Taking responsibility for his or her own actions.

  • Being positive, ethical role models for others.
