On Sunday, the HS students celebrated the Inauguration of their fall president, senior Alex Esquiaqui. The students enjoyed a formal luncheon with a skyline view from the 21st floor of the Sheraton Universal Hotel. Several upperclassmen gave inspirational speeches as a part of the program. Vice-President Rachel Dang presented the challenge to the president while the new president gave a challenge to all the students as they begin the fall term. 10th-12th grade students who earned the “Pin of Kare” were honored while sophomores Cheney Wang and Jamie Murphy performed the musical accompaniment. After the luncheon, students enjoyed a variety of activities in smaller groups. A special thank you goes to the High School Leadership for organizing the event and chaperoning many of the students.
Today, the students had another leadership training assembly. Speaker Mr. John Martin challenged the students to reach out to those younger students and children they coach. He concluded by reminding them of two simple things they can do as assistant leaders –Be Faithful “Show up”…and “Say something positive!” to a younger child.
