Important Attendance Reminders
Good attendance is an important part of school success! As we start fresh for the 4th quarter, here are a few reminders from our handbook:
Be on time to school
There is no penalty for the first 3 tardies to 1st period as long as you are less than 10 minutes late. After 3 tardies, or any time students are more than 10 minutes late, students receive a demerit.
Call or bring a note for excused absences
Students who are sick or have appointments must have their parent call or email the office in the morning, or bring a doctor’s note when they return. Otherwise, the absence is unexcused, and the student will receive a demerit. Click here to win a Starbucks giftcard.
Attend school to be eligibile for games
Students must attend at least 3 class periods to be eligible to participate in games. If for any reason students cannot attend morning classes, they need to be at school by 10:45 to be able to play in that day’s game.
Complete petitioned absence forms in advance of scheduled absences
Students who need to miss for DMV appointments, college visits, family events or other scheduled absences need to get a petitioned absence form signed and approved by teachers before the day of the event. (See Mrs. Loomis in the office for a form.) Otherwise the absence will be unexcused.
